To Sheikh Al-Hibr Al-Din, the genuine mentor and sincere brother, my dear Yusuf Konati, son of our esteemed Sheikh, the late Al-Haj Ali Konati Al-Qadri Al-Maskani, may his soul be sanctified. Peace be upon you, your family, and all the followers, including students and leaders. May Allah grant you good health, well-being, tranquility, and the divine care in all your endeavors. My esteemed Sheikh, we have received your profound book, requesting that I contribute my insights by elucidating your words—the words of the people of God. I shall expound on the secrets of the illuminated prayer, documented in your magnificent and honorable book, 'Al-Fayd Al-Dayim Fi Salat Al-Nabi Al-Ha'im (PBUH)' (Page 40). It is the jewel of supplications and the refreshing waters of salvation, the source of all goodness and bliss, remembered by the devout in the morning and evening. We, my Sheikh, acknowledge, and Allah knows, that we are weaker than the weak in this domain, lacking in knowledge, depth, understanding, and breath in this field. We are devoid of revelation, proximity, meaning, state, discourse, and standing in this place—the place of dignity, beauty, and majesty, the abode of the secrets of hearts and the lights of manifestations of the righteous. However, after contemplation and seeking guidance from Allah, I have resolved to respond to your request. I pray to the Most High that He forgives me if my tongue slips, my hands fumble, my mind strays from the path of sound meanings, or if my memory, heart, and insight fail to grasp your intentions. I implore Him to be my helper and to be pleased with me, whether I am right or wrong, virtuous or erring, in humility to rectify my arrogance. May He have mercy on my teacher and my Sheikh, our esteemed father, Moulana Sidi Al-Amine, with the mercy of satisfaction. May He bless him by gazing upon his noble face.
O Allah, we have no knowledge except what You have taught us, and no opening except the openings known to the knowledgeable, the working scholars, the lovers, the beloved, those who are pleasing to You at all times, by Your constant and manifest grace. After seeking assistance from Allah, the Most High, and seeking His guidance and care, and contemplating the text of the prayer in our hands as presented in the book 'Al-Fayd Al-Dayim Fi Salat Al-Nabi Al-Ha'im (PBUH),' it is as follows: 'O Allah, send Your complete and comprehensive blessings upon our master Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, the light of beauty, the peak of perfection, the repository of the secret of majesty. Show me his radiant countenance in the present and the future. May peace and blessings be upon him and his family, similar to that, and grant me closeness to him. Open for me the gates of men's accomplishments.
We say, "By Allah's knowledge, and with His help." O Allah, meaning "O God," the vocative "ya (يا)" is omitted due to the predominance of the masculine gender of the worshipper, the devoted servant, the sincere ascetic, exhibiting etiquette with Allah because He, glorified and exalted be He, is closer than proximity. "Indeed, We have created man, and We know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein" (Quran, 50:16). The degree of sincerity in servitude makes us hope that, despite our distance from Him, Allah will bring us closer to Him. The vocative particle "ya" is used for the distant one, not for the one who is closer than the jugular vein; therefore, when addressing Him, these etiquettes emerge: etiquettes of exalting Allah from direct address and etiquettes of feeling close to the Beloved. Indeed, He, glorified and exalted be He, has no direction for us to call Him because He is wherever we turn. The greatest direction the seeker turns to is his heart, as the heart is the place of the lights of faith, the source of secrets, and the adornment of the righteous. It is drawn to Allah, and through it, He is worshiped, with the lights of the manifestation of His oneness, through the effusions of love, compassion, affection, tenderness, faith, certainty, loyalty, purity. The heart is the door to creatures and the essence of existent things. When the heart tastes the great beauty of Allah and His majesty, the collective then becomes an indication of its state. Consequently, the vocative becomes "Ya Allah يا الله," near His encompassing essence with all His names and attributes, with "Allahumma" connecting the call with hope in the Rahman, full of beauty and majesty, the obligation of manifest existence in names and attributes. "Salli (ٍِِصل)" means "have mercy and show compassion to the radiant cercle , the essence of the revolving secret of existence, preceding creation with knowledge, power, and benevolence. It is the mirror of the praised divine ethics, the perpetual blessing, honor, and continuous prostration. It possesses the lights of the divine law and the shining truth in the presence of the lords of covenants".
"Salatuka صلاتك": Here is a reference to the prayer that Allah invoked upon him when He approached him, and he was within two bow lengths or nearer. This prayer is what we hope for him from Allah because it is an eternal prayer preceding existence from Him to him. It continues to be suitable for him because it is complete, defined in the realm of dominion and power, in form and meaning, effused since eternity, unchanging, and uninterrupted, with the beauty, majesty, and perfection of Allah. It is comprehensive, sufficient, general, absolute, for Allah's complete encompassing of the small and the large, "And not absent from your Lord is any [part] of an atom's weight within the earth or within the heaven or [anything] smaller than that or greater but that it is in a clear register" (Quran, 10:61). Upon our Master Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah: This signifies obedience that has been mandated on the earth, "Muhammad," and in the heavens, "Ahmad," and upon whom the lights of knowledge have manifested (peace be upon him). The path of the worlds of the meanings of faith has become clear through him, from which the seeker draws strength to reach his ultimate happiness. The subtleties of the Most Merciful have been unveiled on his hands, and the lights of divine mercy have burst forth with his upholding of the rights of Allah's message, worshiping Him according to His command.
The light of beauty: This refers to perceiving the beauty of the truth that pervades all creation, manifested in all attributes. Without the light of truth in the heart through remembrance and following the Muhammadan message, the earth would not have been illuminated by the light of its Lord and His existence. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is the light of the beauty of knowledge, as he said in his supplication: "O Allah, make light in my hearing, light in my sight, light in my hair, until he said: make me light." He sought to see that because he is a light.
As for being the light of beauty, he is the complete human being who realizes all the qualities of beauty, at the highest levels of empowerment. Among them is a pool of water, a spring of the mountain of perfection. Whoever drinks from it will never thirst again but will emerge from the darkness of the unseen to the light of the witnessed, the origin of existence. The perfection in existence is light upon light, not seen by anything else in detail and in totality, because the prayers of Allah upon him contain the secret of majesty. Through him, we recognize the truth from falsehood through the manifestation of the effects of the names of Allah, such as the Majestic, the Subduer, the Compeller, the Strong, the Avenger, the One of Majesty and Severe in Punishment, as mentioned in the verses of the Noble Quran.
"So show me his splendid rising in the present and the future": Meaning, let me know him, O my Lord, in both the present and the future. Through the gathering of excellence, satisfaction, generosity, and closeness, so that I may be among those who attain nearness to him and to his family, and I send peace just like that. Show me the rising of his beloveds, companions, and the people of Allah, among the saints and the righteous. And bless me with the union: meaning, bless me with the secrets and the etiquettes with you, following the path of your beloved, your greatest messenger, tasting the sweetness of nearness, and being immersed in the lights of your mercy, fully absorbed in your closeness. Indeed, someone described the pleasure of the breeze of proximity behind the divine veil and said:
In the realm of connection, a breeze takes flight,
Intoxicates, yet they've not drunk a sip all night.
Branches bend, a subtle, yearning dance,
For within, hearts brim with an amorous trance.
Witnessing the Lord's unveiled grandeur,
Breaking night's silence, awakening with fervor.
O worshippers, don't let sleep detain,
Harmony is found beyond the realm of the mundane.
From the forge of nights, where fasting prevails,
On foot they journey, breaking love's veils.
Not for Eden's gardens, nor alluring grace,
Their quest is the glance of the Majestic face.
Their aim, profound, noble, and grand,
To witness the Divine, in a celestial land.
And open upon me the gates of noble men: O my Lord, open upon me the mirror of divine manifestations, adorned with eternal care and everlasting grace, just as You opened it for Your saints and beloved ones. Those who remembered You, and their hearts trembled, bodies shivered before prostration, and their inner beings quivered, fearing, their expressions and letters perfectly aligned with the verses and letters of Your Noble Book. They comprehended its meanings, secrets, and etiquettes through the grace of Your favor, Your presence, and Your generosity. They tasted the sweetness of Your sacred words, encompassed by Your majesty, promises at times, beauty, and rewards at others, warnings, glad tidings, eloquence, and miracles. So, O Allah, make us, through this prayer for our Prophet and beloved, confident, perceptive of its letters, believers in its meanings, unified by its beauty, praising and adhering to it. With its essence, we are empowered, assured by its kindness, delighted by its mercies, illuminated by its lights, adorned by its beauty, obedient to its majesty, hopeful for its complete goodness. Through it, we succeed, rejoicing in its secrets, connecting to it. A shield for our children, descendants, and the progeny of our progeny until the Day of Judgment. Make its reward upon us, our followers, seekers, all Muslims, both men and women, the living and the deceased, and everyone who reads, recites, contemplates, extracts its meanings, hears it, advises with it, is advised with it, or has neither seen nor heard of it. O Allah, make us at all times among those whom You called, and they answered, You commanded, and they obeyed, and who became acquainted with You through the beauty of Your love.
O Allah, purify our hearts with the awe of You, illuminate them with Your remembrance, fill them with Your love, occupy them with the majestic beauty of Your presence, clothe them with the grand beauty of Your sovereignty, and perfect them with the perfection of Your Oneness. So that we may be among those who are stripped of everything in love for Your essence, witnessing the manifestation of the great mysteries of Your Lordship through Your service, and experiencing the unveiling of the realities of Your mercy with gratitude. O Allah, O Most Merciful, O Most Generous, take our souls in Your hands, intervene between us and all else, by the right of all Your names, attributes, and actions, and by the right of our master, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. Glory be to Your Lord, the Lord of Majesty, high above what they describe. Peace be upon the messengers, and all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds.
And peace from us to all the family and followers, as we uphold the covenant of love, an everlasting pledge to the lovers.
