The illuminated Sufi Torch

Continuation of the Sufi Torch by Abu Al-Fayd, Sheikh Sidi Abdullah.

The righteous saint, the ascetic worshiper, the vigilant observer, our Master Hajj Mufaddal, spent his life leaving a clear impact on social, intellectual, religious, and Sufi aspects throughout Morocco for several years. After living for almost a hundred and seven years, he left behind his son, a model and bearer of the torch of the Shadhiliyya, Sheikh, Imam, and Scholar, the wise and knowledgeable, our Master and Mawlay Abdullah Rusi El-Hassani Al-Idrisi. He outlined for the disciples the path to reach Allah, took the seeker by the hand, directed him to the correct destination, and guided him with methods that repel Satan and resist the self and desires. Ultimately, he led him safely and purely to Allah. Because the path is branched with various ways and full of twists and challenges, the journey becomes arduous. Thus, this work of guidance, education, and refinement was carried out in his zawiyah in Ksar El-Kebir before the passing of his father, may Allah honor him. The best of this is expressed in the words of our Sheikh: "Whoever wishes to seek from our Shadhiliyya path should follow my pious son, Sidi Abdullah."
