Sheikh Wali-O  Allah, Sidi Al-Mufaddal Rusi El-Hassani, was among the prominent resistors of his time, as attested by various letters. Among them:

One of the letters we obtained testifies to his standing alongside the Mujahideen and assisting them when foreigners, whether Spanish or French, entered areas like Al-Araich (Larache), Tangier, and Asilah. We include two letters, the first from the Mujahid Muhammad Al-Amine Bkhath, informing him of the colonization of Al-Araich, Tangier, and Asilah, seeking his assistance and secrecy for fear of the authorities. It stated: "[They informed us, by God's destruction of them, that the colonizator have invaded the cities that are on the frontiers of Tangier, Asilah, and Al-Araich]." It further said: "[We love you; may God bless you. You must inform us of what you have in writing and secrecy is necessary from us and you, fearing the informers who are the dogs of the time, full of anger and hatred. May God increase their likes. Amen]." Regarding the request for help, it stated: "[We love you; may God bless you. You should revive your tradition with us in the matter of ink, as the pens have dried up, and the papers have run out. So hurry to us with them, O virtuous one. To God, we belong, and to Him, we shall return. And make us and you among those with virtue and prohibition. Amen]."

The second letter was from the Mujahid Al-Hashimi bin Al-Arabi Al-Filali Al-Fassi, informing him of the readiness of Muslim Mujahideen to resist the French army near Tafilalet in the area called "Al-Barda." Here are the texts of the two letters:

Letter from Sayyid Muhammad Al-Amine Bkhath:

Praise be to God alone, and blessings be upon our master Muhammad and his family.

Our beloved, the radiant, our sheikh of the time, the unique of his era, the one remembered by God, the honorable, the blessed, our sheikh, Sidi Al-Haj Al-Mufaddal Rusi. Peace be upon your noble personage. Salutations to you in the manner of our master, the Messenger of Allah. The refuge to God in the battlefields of resurrection. After this, we convey to you, the generous in knowledge, that he who presented us with some news about the matter of the colonizer, may God destroy them, informed us that they have entered the cities on the frontiers of Tangier, Asilah, and Al-Araich. The intention is to ally with the government against the Muslim rulers, and they entered with God's support. So, here we are, dear brother in God, with what we have heard, disturbing our sleep, causing distress in our hearts out of concern for religion, its decline, and the rise of disbelief. May God disappoint their plans, scatter their affairs, and disperse their gathering. Amen, amen, amen. He informed you about some news from your son, the earthly, and you are aware of it. Therefore, we love you. May God and His Messenger love you. We ask you to inform us in writing. Secrecy is a must from us and you, fearing the informers who are the dogs of the time, full of anger and hatred. May God increase their likes. Amen. Then, we love you. May God bless you. Revive your tradition with us in the matter of ink because the pens have dried up, and the papers are scarce. So, hurry to us with them, O giver of goodness. Letter from Al-Hashimi bin Al-Arabi Al-Filali Al-Fassi:

Praise be to God alone, and blessings be upon Muhammad and his family.

The station where the honors keep pouring at its doors, and the sheikh to whom the rewarded ones supplicate at his thresholds, the cultivator of souls and the guide leading them to the precincts of the Holy King, perpetually linked to blessings and grace, gazing with the eye of God in stillness and movement. O giver of talents, Sidi Al-Mufaddal, peace be upon you, O people of the house. Indeed, He is praiseworthy and glorious. After this, let it be in the noble knowledge that God enlightens you with goodness: the colonisator, may God destroy their armies, went out to confront Tafilalt, and between them and it, may God destroy them, was about three days. We heard that they descended into the valley of "Kur" in the place called "Al-Barda," and the Muslims prepared for them from every pass in the mentioned region. They intended to rise against them, God willing, in about fifteen days from this blessed month. Our purpose in all this is for you to know what is happening and to extend hands to God to defeat them and make them the spoils of the Muslims. By the grace of our master, the Messenger of God (peace be upon him), and seek the acceptance of your righteous prayers, the servant who is laden with countless sins, the Hashimi bin Al-Arabi Al-Filali Al-Fassi. With permission and from your earthly son, seeking your righteous and accepted prayers, Sidi Al-Mufaddal. May God be kind to everyone through His bounty. Amen. On the 9th of Muharram, the opening of 1319 AH.
