Founder of the Sufi Path
Sheikh Wali Allah Sidi Al-Mufaddal Rusi El-Hassani, may God have mercy on him, was one of the prominent figures in the Shadhiliyya Sufi Path. His lineage traces back to Maulay Idris Al-Azhar, the great-great-grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
His Eminence
Sheikh Wali Allah, Sidi Al-Mufaddal Al-Rusi Al-Hassani, was a distinguished religious figure known for his deep knowledge, piety, and profound understanding of God. He was a guide in matters of spirituality, embodying the essence of the Shari'a, truth, beauty, and the delicate balance between humility and majesty. He was a saint, a mentor to the seekers, and a pillar of those on the spiritual path. Revered for his justice, he was known as Sidi Al-Haj Al-Mufaddal Al-Idrisi Rusi El-Hassani.
Lineage
Sidi Al-Mufaddal Rusi El-Hassani was the son of the knowledgeable Sidi Muhammad bin Al-Faqih Sidi Al-Hashmi bin Sidi Muhammad bin Al-Rais Al-Qa'id Abdullah Rusi bin Al-Qa'id Al-Haj Hamdun Rusi bin Sidi Ahmed bin Sidi Muhammad Abi Zayyan Rusi bin Muhammad bin Abi Saeed Uthman bin Abi Hamu Musa Al-Awwal bin Abi Saeed Uthman bin Yaghmrasan bin Zayyan bin Thabit bin Muhammad bin Zaydan bin Yandukas bin Ta' Allah bin Ali bin Yaml bin Yarjuz bin Al-Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Mawlana Idris Al-Azhar bin Mawlana Idris Al-Akbar bin Abdullah Al-Kamil bin Al-Hassan Al-Muthanna bin Al-Hassan Al-Sibt bin Maulana Ali and Fatimah Zahrae, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon them.
Upbringing
Sheikh Wali Allah, Sidi Al-Mufaddal Rusi El-Hassani, was raised in the Jebel Al-Habib tribe in northern Morocco under the care of his father, Sidi Muhammad, may God have mercy on him, who was known as the Grand "Dhaker الذاكر". The Sheikh studied in the villages and cities near Jebel Al-Habib, later moving to Fes to pursue advanced studies at the University of Al-Qarawiyin. This brought him close to scholars and saints of his time, initiating him into a profound journey of spiritual growth. Subsequently, he embarked on his spiritual quest under the guidance of various sheiks in Fes, Wazzan, Tetouan, and beyond.
Sufi Path Lineage
Sheikh Al-Mufaddal Rusi El-Hassani received blessings from his Sheikh, Sidi Muhammad bin Hassan Al-Saadi Al-Hassani, who inherited knowledge from his Sheikh, Sidi Muhammad Al-Harraq, may God have mercy on them both. The chain of transmission then goes through Sheikh Moulay Al-Arabi Al-Darqawi, Sheikh Ali Al-Jamal, Sheikh Al-Arabi bin Abdullah, Sheikh Qasim Al-Khassasi, Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdullah, Sheikh Abdurrahman Al-Fassi, Sheikh Youssef Al-Fassi, Sheikh Abdurrahman Al-Majdoub, Sheikh Ali Al-Sanhaji, Sheikh Ibrahim Anhah, Sheikh Ahmed Zerouk, Sheikh Ahmed bin A'qabah Al-Hadrami, Sheikh Yahya Al-Qadri, Sheikh Ali bin Wafa, Sheikh Muhammad Bahr Al-Safa, Sheikh Dawood Al-Bakhli, Sheikh Ahmed bin Ata' Allah, Sheikh Abu Abbas Al-Mirsi, Sheikh Abu Hassan Al-Shadhili, Sheikh Abdurrahman Al-Madani, Sheikh Taqi Al-Din Al-Faqir, Sheikh Fakhr Al-Din, Sheikh Noor Al-Din Abu Al-Hassan, Sheikh Taj Al-Din, Sheikh Shams Al-Din, Sheikh Zain Al-Din Al-Qazwini, Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Basri, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Maruwani, Sheikh Abu Muhammad Saeed, Sheikh Fath Al-Sa'ud, Sheikh Saeed Al-Ghazwani, Sheikh Abu Muhammad Jaber, from Sayyidina Al-Hassan, the son of Sayyidina Ali, from Sayyidina Ali bin Abi Talib, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
Passing Away
Sheikh, Sidi Al-Mufaddal, continued his worship and devotions without interruption, imparting the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah to his followers. He nurtured numerous disciples spiritually, instilling in them the noble qualities of generosity, asceticism, and piety until he met his Lord in 1327 AH. His blessed resting place is in the village of Rusiyyin within the tomb where he lies alongside his father, "The Grand Dhiker الذاكر." Sidi Muhammad, and his grandfather Al fakih Sidi Al-Hashmi. This sacred site overlooks the dam of April 9th.
