Condolence Letter Addressed to the seekers in Al-Qasr Al-Kabir.
Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace upon our Master, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. Those chosen by the truth, with the rising of their lights and the source of their secrets, continuously engage in His remembrance, morning and evening, as a grace from Him, exalted be He, upon His beloved and chosen ones, including the brothers residing in Al-Qasr. Their Moqadem, our beloved Abdul Salam Al-Jilani, may Allah's peace, mercy, and blessings be upon everyone. In the presence of our Moqadem ,may Allah strengthen and support him, we have received the news that our brother and your brother in Allah, Sidi Ahmed bin Klal, has passed away to the mercy of Allah Almighty. May Allah magnify our grief and yours for him, and may blessings be upon his son, who becomes his father's successor, and may he take inspiration from the one whose insight was illuminated. Reflect, O brothers, for each of us may face what has befallen your companion. Allah says, 'Every soul will taste death.' We advise you, our brothers, and ourselves to fear Allah, obey His commands, avoid His prohibitions, and may Allah bless the one who said:"
When a person doesn't wear the garments of piety,
Stripped bare, even if adorned externally.
For the best attire a person can wear is obedience to his Lord,
No good resides in the one who disobeys God's word.
If this world were to last for its inhabitants,
The Messenger of Allah would endure, forever persistent.
Yet, it fades away along with its pleasures,
Sins and transgressions remaining, as they were without measures.
O our brothers, in the Messenger of Allah, we have a beautiful example. Whoever is not admonished by his death, may peace and blessings be upon him, will never be admonished. I advise you and myself to be engrossed in Allah, turn to Him day and night, and distance yourselves for His sake. Do not concern yourselves with what you have missed in worldly opportunities while engaging with Allah, for He compensates you with what is better. Whoever relies on Allah, Allah will suffice him. How amazing it is that Allah said, 'Who is it that will lend Allah a goodly loan?' Some interpreted this verse to mean, 'Who would sell what belongs to Him, then buy it back to establish a lineage, and then borrow from you what He bought, promising you a reward many times over?' Sayyidi Abdullah ibn Abbad, may Allah benefit us and you through him, said.
The Lord borrows from His servant what He has gifted him as a means of elevating his status and manifesting his honor. Despite this, He promises abundant reward as a sign of His generosity and favor. Brothers, it's time to depart. Let each one of us reflect on what he has accomplished and what he will find on a day when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit. Allah says, 'And strive for the means to attain forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.' Also, 'Whatever good you send forth for your souls, you will find it with Allah, better and more abundant in reward.' So, hold onto the word 'La ilaha illallah, Muhammad Rasulullah,' which shields its bearer from the fire and the wrath of the Almighty. Allah says, 'O you who believe, remember Allah with frequent remembrance, and do not be deluded by this fleeting abode. Look at what happened to the nations that preceded you. Where is Shaddad ibn Ad, who built Iram, the city of pillars? Where is Pharaoh, who claimed divinity? Where is Haman and where is Qarun, and others like them? Therefore, let each one of us take heed from our brothers, considering what has befallen them – destroyers of pleasures, dividers of groups, mourners of sons and daughters. Glory be to Allah, there is no deity but Him, the One who gives life and causes death. So, strengthen your hands, O our brothers, in the remembrance of Allah and gather upon it.
Message directed to his son, Abu Al-Fayd Sidi Abdullah.
All praise is due to Allah alone, and may Allah's blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet.
From the servant of His Lord, the honored, your father, Al-Hajj Al-Mufaddal, to my beloved son Abdullah, who is devoted to Allah for us. Our intention for him is to love the people of Allah and follow the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. Amen. May Allah's peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you and extend to you. Through the passage of days and nights, in the name of my master, the best of mankind, and upon your fellow students among our honorable seekers. May they all be under their Imam with perfection, following the best of our master, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him.
Afterward, my son, it has been a while since I intended to visit you happily. I convey greetings to our brothers in Allah among the people of Seraif, and to those in Qasr and Qadra, as the contracts are broken for us due to the abundant rain, as you are well aware. Today is Wednesday, and we were preparing and directing towards you. Those with us, whom Allah has empowered among the brothers, informed us. The learned one, my master Ahmed Al-Zayan, from the village of Khashabish, who is associated with the Tawajna region, informed us about the situation with the mixture and the people of Seraif. Therefore, we delayed the journey until we drink water, Allah willing, and come to you.
On the 22nd of Ramadan in the honorable year 1309 Hijri.
On the back of the letter, it is written: 'May it reach, Allah willing, into the hands of my son Abdullah, at the residence of Al-Hira Al-Jarfatia, may Allah protect him from every trial and affliction, in the name of the best of creation. Amen.
