People, the majority of people, with their diverse races and religions, varying ages, thoughts, and endeavors, find themselves grappling in the vast maze of failures, impacting their beings and their many dimensions. The weak among them navigates his days amidst the pain of its harshness and the scars of its wars. The wealthy among them sees the beauty of his life in wealth and pride. The happiness of the arrogant is confined to these two variables, in which the poor, the needy, and the weak suffer the injustice of days and years. Neither the impoverished and disheartened poor nor the ostentatious and complacent rich find comfort; the former struggles, while the latter's stubborn throne becomes more harsh and ruthless without mercy. The question posed here is why all of this? Why has this suffering persisted for centuries, gnawing at the bodies and human essence? Has humanity truly failed to be God's vicegerent on Earth? Isn't man the carrier of the true essence of life, its beauty, and perfection? Isn't man's existence among creatures a great miracle of destiny and significance? Isn't man's existence the existence of the entire universe? Isn't man the living moon that carries wonders of form, size, beauty, fingerprints, features of thought, consciousness, intelligence, and then knowledge and awareness? Isn't your secret a luminous perfection where you were the honored gem, the hidden adorned one? Don't you have the right to ask yourself, 'Who am I?' For what purpose did you come, my friend? And where do you wish to go?
You cannot, O insightful human, find answers to these questions even if you delve into the books of the world's treasures, philosophies, intellectual theories, lectures, speculations, or sayings. You are oblivious to who is closer than 'the jugular vein.' If you are eager to find answers to these questions or similar ones, be certain that their keys are all with your Creator, and their treasures are hidden within you, waiting for you to take them ready from your secret, from the secret of your vicegerency. You will realize then, my brother, that God is 'with you wherever you are,' as the Almighty God has spoken the truth (Surah Al-Hadid, 4), accompanying you constantly with His sublime names for your happiness throughout your journey. He continually sheds His light upon you for the perfection of His power, knowledge, generosity, existence, and favor. Because He is the one who casts the moonlight on whomever He wills, wherever and however, to lead people from darkness to light. Whether poor or rich, He grants you inspiration and luminous triumph. By insight, He reveals His beauty and majesty in every moment or, in other words, in every breath, both the inhale and exhale. Have you not listened to the majesty and beauty of these two, with the eyes of thought and uniqueness? Have you not looked with the eyes of thought into monotheism? Have you not adorned your contemplations with the flapping of butterflies and the singing of birds? Has the murmur and sparkle of water ever fascinated you? Or its ripple, babble, gurgle, or rustle? Has the crackling and hissing of fire not astonished you? Or its crackle, roar, sigh, or rustle? Has the initiation and melody of rain not delighted you? Has its pattering or drumming not worried you? Has the rustling of the leaves and their whispers not nourished your senses? Has the fruit of various trees and their different colors and sizes not pleased you? 'And of the palm trees, from the sheaths of it, are clustered dates hanging low' (Surah Al-An'am, 99). Has the gentle tickling sensation of the sunbeam on your cheek in spring, after a dark winter, not thrilled you? Has the light of the moon and its size not mesmerized you on a moonlit night? Have you not felt the joy of the earth and smelled its fragrance after the rain? Have you ever contemplated the gaze of a baby at its mother? Have you ever admired the beauty of the different colors of nature? Have you dedicated some of your time to look at flowers and blossoms, how they open their flowers and emit the sweet scent of their essence? Have you ever marveled at the dance of bees as they hover around flowers before sipping the sweetness of their essence? Have you ever found joy in denying yourself to help others? Have you ever understood the essence of love without expecting anything in return? Have you...? Be certain, my brother, that if this revelation becomes clear, the tumult of your heart will be its evidence, and your eternal happiness will be its bliss. No wealth or power compensates for it, and no poverty or weakness undermines it. Your light is from His greatness, and your soul is from His spirit. What a magnificent saying, 'And I breathed into him of My Spirit' (The Almighty God spoke the truth, Surah Al-Hijr, 29). Without the manifestation of this light within you, O human, you are troubled, scattered, lost, domineering, poor, even if you possess the entire world. You, by God, have lost your freedom, happiness, and the title of your vicegerency. Life, no matter how long, is short.
The generous and happy life cannot be realized in its most beautiful forms, meanings, and pleasures except when we fulfill the covenant we made with ourselves before our Lord, the Almighty, in the world of covenant. At that moment, we find relief from our sufferings, bewilderment, fears, and miseries.
Indeed, Allah is the Rich, independent of wealth and poverty. Your wealth or poverty, knowledge or ignorance, gender or color do not matter to Him. Allah does not look at your bodies or images but at your hearts." (Narrated by Muslim) Your relationship with Him is based on your knowledge of Him, your goodness in maintaining the covenant, and what He has entrusted you with. Contemplate the verses of the Criterion and the open book of His signs as a way to return to managing yourself wisely. Through them, His love for you is revealed. Everyone finds Him, glorified be He, according to their seeking, understanding, effort, and determination. So, who are you, my companion, without His divine light? How can you distinguish between good and evil when you are absent from Him? How can you be strong without Him? How can you be absent from Him, glorified be He, while you are a living miracle across time, eras, lands, and oceans, and across all understandings and horizons? Why not sail to the stations of the righteous and ascend in the gatherings of the virtuous through the breezes of union, realizing your mistakes? Remember that, by His grace, He has given you the ability to adopt some of His qualities, which are countless. If these qualities manifest in you by correcting your interactions with all creation, you will then be able to find your way to the great passage leading to the answer of who you truly are. Do not be oblivious to your selfishness, and do not be ignorant of the light that God has placed within you, lest you dwell in the darkness of confusion, fear, greed, robbery, forgetfulness, and lose the lights of His beauty, the beacon of perfection. Make the Criterion the eye of certainty, His knowledge the science of certainty, and the expression of the realities of manifestations - through the language of your secret - the right of certainty. Worship your Lord until certainty reaches you. Allah, the Almighty, is truthful.
Worship Allah, for He is the guide of your life, the method of your freedom, and the path of your leadership.
The constant is Allah, glorified and exalted, and to Him is the ultimate destination.
